LOS ANGELES, CA (January 6, 2009) The Los Angeles Black Book Expo (LABBX) celebrates its fifth year on Saturday, August 15, 2009 at the Expo Center, 3980 Menlo Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90037. The expo will be held from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM along with authors, exhibitors, panel discussions, workshops, spoken word, teen poetry festival with prizes, children's area and more.
Throughout the year, the LABBX will hold bookfairs sponsored by their newest partner, Barnes and Noble in the Grove at Farmer's Market. The first is a He Said, She Said Relationship Forum hosted by author and speaker Na'Kisha Crawford (So Good It Hurts). The discussion begins at 2:00 PM. Bookstore vouchers to support the L.A. Black Book Expo can be obtained by emailing executive director Charles Chatmon at labbex@gmail.com. The vouchers are good for the week of February 8-14 and may be used to purchase books, CD's, and Starbucks along with other selected items.
